Late again. Oh, well, seems it can’t be helped - I am always either busy, or watching something old & long. Like Cardcaptor Sakura for example… 70 episodes is not very much, but watching them eats all my free time. But I can be excused, right? It’s Sakura after all :).
But now we must speak about Kanon. Hm… What can I say as an intro? Only that I would like them to add one more girl to this show. Someone with “Nyaa~” and nekomimi. Or only “Nyaa~” at least…
After watching Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha I told one of my friends - “It is anime about Nanoha and Evangelion magical girls”. On his question “What Evangelion is doing in Nanoha???” I just showed him this picture. In less than 2 minutes he understood “Why Evangelion”.
And can YOU guess why I call Fate Testarossa “Evangelion”? I realy want to know, if its only me who has such a strange associations…
So, it came time for third series of Death Note. I noticed that I have less time for blogging that I expected, so I am going to: a) Slightly change post format. I will put screenshots, short summary, and my thoughts about episode on one day, as soon as I can, and add full summary 1-2 days later. b) I will blog only 4 anime at once. I was going to blog at least 6 after I get used to it, but seems that I just do not have enough time… So 4 will be enough. Death note, Kanon, Negima!?, and… and… Well, I have not decided yet :).
You may ask, why I need to add full summary for episodes, if no one will read them anyway (many people use RSS to get updates, so they will not revisit site just to read something that is posted on about hundred other blogs – they even will not be notified of update…)? Well, personally I like to read summaries of serials that I could not watch when they were aired and have no time to watch now… And because of it, visiting a site and finding no summaries… It just feels strange to me :).
You know, when I wrote words - “Kanon (2006) - Episode 2 - Introit in the Snow”- I once again thought, that it will be very difficult for me to stop myself from watching original version of Kanon… Because I really want to know what happened, what is happening & what happens next in this snowy town. But on the other hand I do not want to watch 2006 year version knowing everything…What shell I do? :(
But until I solve this problem, here are my few words about the second episode…
As always happens, when you need something – it disappears. This happened to my internet connection – provider explained it as an “upgrade”, but until this “upgrade” ends, my connection is about 12 kb/s at best… So seems that again, I am last who is going to write his reviews. Heh… And what’s worse – the first thing that at last finished downloading is Death Note – Show that is reviewed almost by everyone. So, you understand how I feel, right? :).
But first or last, I am going to do it anyway, because seems that I am beginning to like this somehow strange series… (I like strange girls. ©).
Well, here it is at last. Remake of Kanon by Kyoto Animation. We all waited for it for different reasons. Some waited because they love Kanon, some waited because they love Kyoto Animation, some – because they love kawaii girls… Personally I waited because I liked Tomokazu Sugita’s voice in Suzumiya Haruhi no Yūutsu as Kyon & in Shuffle! as Rin. I was sure he will retain Kyon’s sarcastic intonations, and just wanted to hear it once more. I was not disappointed – he still speaks like me when I am in a bad mood :). That’s just like looking on yourself from the outside… Heh…
Opening. ”Last Regrets” by Ayana. I like it. Really. The song seems sad, soft & fluffy, just like snow, so I can conclude that it’s almost perfect opening for this series. I am going to find this song and listen to it in cold snowy evenings.
Ending. ”Kaze no Tadori Tsuku Bashes” by Ayana. Good song with a good demonstration of Kyoto’s professionalism with light. Nothing more and nothing less.

To say the truth, I was not going to watch Death Note – I like more bright & colorful stories, and it did not seem like one of them. But everyone around me was so excited, saying “Wow, Death Note anime, I want to see this”, “ New anime by Madhouse, it must be as good as Monster was” etc. that I got interested. I have not read Death Note manga, and Monster is still waiting for it’s turn on my shelf, but I think I have to be able to answer a question “Hey, what of you think of 10th episode of Death Note?” by something better than “What? There is 10 episodes already???” … So, even before writing about Kanon 2006 & Negima!? I am making sure that my answer will sound like “I wrote about 10th episode in my blog, why have not you read it???”, or something like this.
Ok, now to the main part…
Opening. “The World” by Nightmare. Not the type of music I would listen apart from video, but it was quite good. I can say, I can’t imagine this song without video, and video without this song.
Ending. “Alumina”, also by Nightmare. To my surprise, I liked it more than OP. It’s strange, I almost never like endings, but… It’s animation is not as good as in opening, but “Old Movie” stylization was good, and song also was better. IMHO of course.

Like the title says, seems everything is OK, and works just as I planed. All that is left, is to add something to sidebar (links to some other blogs, access counter (I hope I will be able celebrate 1000 hits earlier than in 1 year :) )), find some other plug-in to hide spoilers in text, because I do not like the one I have now, and decide on category structure - I think this is the most difficult part of work left :P.
And of course, there may be unexpected errors, because I played with CSS too much… I think… But anyway, I even corrected my own 37 errors, and now this blog is almost XHTML 1.0 Transitional valid. At least main page is… Don’t ask me why I spent 2 days on finding this errors without any HTML knowledge – I do not know. Maybe because I like everything to be done as good as possible? Or maybe because I had nothing else to do? Who knows…
Oh, yes, almost forgot – About & FAQ pages… Hm…
BTW, Vote in the poll please, many things depend on this =^_^=.
